Currently, Vietnam’s vaccine passport has been recognized by 10 partners, including Japan, the US, the UK, Australia, India, Belarus, Cambodia, the Philippines, Palestine and the Maldives.

On the Vietnamese side, up to now, it is temporarily recognizing the vaccination certificate samples of 79 countries and territories that have been officially introduced to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This recognition will be the basis for foreigners entering Vietnam from these 79 places to be able to reduce the concentrated isolation time to 3 days and can shorten the isolation time for those who have had enough vaccines. Vietnam’s vaccine passport has 11 information about the carrier, as well as the quantity and type of vaccine injected, along with the certificate’s code. The information will be digitally signed, encrypted and packaged as a 2D QR code. The QR code on the vaccine passport will expire 12 months from the date of origin. Many countries have applied vaccine passports to open up their economies and bring economic and social activities back to the new normal.

In a press conference in November 2021, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said that Vietnam accepts vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
