Vietnam – Singapore study and build the framework of ‘Digital-Green Economy Partnership’


The two sides expressed their pleasure to witness strong developments in the Strategic Partnership between the two countries in various fields, especially in economic cooperation.

The two sides agreed that the exchange of visits between the two countries’ senior leaders has been continuous since the beginning of the year, especially the visit to Singapore by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc (February 2022) and the visit to Singapore by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc (February 2022). In order to add impetus to the bilateral relationship in the coming time, the two Prime Ministers agreed to increase the exchange of high-level delegations at all levels, on all channels; effectively implement the Memorandum of Understanding achieved during high-level visits in 2022 in the fields of digital economy, environment, and energy.

The two Prime Ministers agreed to direct relevant ministries and branches to study and build the framework of the “Digital-Green Economy Partnership” between the two countries; at the same time, jointly successfully organize activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Partnership in 2023.

Appreciating the successes and practical contributions of Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) to Vietnam’s development, the Prime Minister proposed Singapore replicate the VSIP Industrial Park model; expect Singapore businesses to integrate 4.0 technology, greenness and sustainability in investment projects in Vietnam in the future.

The Prime Minister also hoped that Singapore would continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live and study in this island nation, considering this as a bridge to further cement the friendship and solidarity between the two peoples.

The two sides agreed to cooperate more closely at international and regional forums, especially at ASEAN and the United Nations, contributing to strengthening ASEAN’s solidarity and centrality as well as maintaining peace. , stability and prosperous development of the region.

On this occasion, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong invited Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to pay an official visit to Singapore in early 2023.
