Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just issued Official Letter No. 789/CD-TTg on the application of measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic and economic development, realizing dual goals.
A telegram to the Chairman of the People’s Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities; Ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, agencies attached to the Government stated: “Some places have applied rigid and extreme measures that affect production and business activities, endanger disrupt the supply chain, large-scale production”.
The Prime Minister requested to rectify the application of epidemic prevention measures beyond necessary, affecting production and business.
The Prime Minister requested the Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Governmental agencies, People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the instructions on epidemic prevention and control; implementing the “dual goals” of the Standing Secretariat of the Secretariat on April 27, 2021 and the directives of the Government, the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control and the instructions of the Ministry of Health. economic.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Transport to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the Ministries of Health, Public Security and Industry and Trade in reviewing the organization of transport activities to and from epidemic places to meet the requirements of epidemic prevention and production and business. Timely rectification of the application of excessively necessary measures, causing traffic congestion and negatively affecting production and business activities.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade shall direct, guide and ensure favorable conditions for trade, consumption and supply of goods between the epidemic-affected localities and other localities.
The Ministry of Health shall assume the prime responsibility for, review, inspect, urge and correct the application of medical isolation measures in some localities in contravention of regulations to people coming from epidemic-affected areas.
Ministries and branches, according to their functions, tasks and powers, promptly remove difficulties for localities, especially key localities. Along with that, the best efforts will be made to ensure the completion of socio-economic development tasks and goals in 2021.
