A young animal lover bought a baby pangolin in a restaurant and sent him to the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Biological Development of Cat Tien National Park.

On May 15, the baby pangolin went to the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Creatures in Cat Tien National Park, named Loc by everyone at the center.

Currently, Loc is volunteered by Mr. Le Van Long, a student at Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, University of Agriculture and Forestry, Ho Chi Minh City, to stay at the center for 2 weeks for convenience. Loc is allowed to drink specialized milk and practice licking milk 5 times a day, each time from 2 to 4 ml. When Loc sleeps, he must have a warm towel to cover and cover his body.

Loc belongs to the Javan pangolin species, which is one of two species of pangolin distributed in Vietnam (the other is the golden pangolin).

The natural food of the Javan pangolin is mainly ants, ant eggs, termites and some other insects. The Javan pangolin is a gentle, nocturnal animal that is very afraid of humans and other animals to touch. If it is in danger, it will curl up like a ball.

Receiving this pangolin, I am both happy and worried. Glad you are young The rescuer trusted him and assigned him to the care center. Worried because he was too young, he needed a person to take care of him full-time, with heart and patience while the unit’s caregivers were limited. It’s okay,” said Viet.
