Investing in Da Nang needs information technology human resources

In addition to less troublesome administrative procedures and sustainable economic development, many businesses expect Da Nang to train high-quality human resources.

On the afternoon of June 25, the Investment Forum was organized by the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, with more than 600 delegates representing the Government; central ministries and branches; a number of embassies and consulates are located in the city; domestic and foreign enterprises attended. The city wishes to create a bridge for information exchange in order to promote socio-economic development in the industrial era 4.0.

Accompanying the past 20 years with the Da Nang government in the field of information technology development, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, said that Da Nang has transformed, making information technology an important field. In 2021, despite the heavy impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the information technology industry still contributes 8.2% of the city’s GDP.

As of June 2022, FPT has nearly 7,000 employees working in Da Nang, including 5,000 software engineers, equivalent to a quarter of the city’s entire software workforce. FPT has helped create tens of thousands of jobs with an average salary of 18 million VND/person for many years, about 20% higher than the average salary in Da Nang.

FPT contributes one-fifth of the city’s revenue in the field of technology and information, and contributes more than VND 515 billion to the state budget (in 2021). The Group is committed to continuing to improve the education-technology city to reach 10,000 programmers by 2024. “FPT is ready to share technology, knowledge, … for all information technology businesses. , including export software and new technologies,” said Mr. Binh.

According to Mr. Binh, Vietnam’s biggest resource is intelligence. While our country’s labor force is very young, the training of high-quality human resources, including the information technology industry, is imperative. “Currently in Vietnam, there are over 300 universities and colleges, the Government as well as Da Nang need to come up with solutions so that Danang can train 20,000 more people every year,” Mr. Binh added.

Sharing the same opinion, Mr. Nguyen Tam Tien – General Director of Trung Nam Group, said that the most important issue today is the human factor. Da Nang with a good education system, is the training center of the Central – Central Highlands and has created an internationally-required workforce working in the tourism, service, and information technology industries. information, high-tech industry… highly appreciated by domestic and foreign investors.

“What we need to do to prepare for outstanding development is to strengthen training linkages between training institutions and businesses, invest in more research centers at universities, strengthen and strengthen training institutions. materials for training institutions, colleges, intermediate schools and universities…; expanding training links with universities in developed countries,” said Mr. Tam.

The representative of LG Group also said that Da Nang needs to ensure short-term human resources, especially in the field of information technology. Due to the lack of this human resource in the locality, in the past time, businesses have had to attract talents from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang to work. “The city should also consider a mechanism to attract international IT human resources to work,” he said.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged that the issue of human resource training in Vietnam has changed with the times and the process of international integration. At this point, Vietnam must focus on higher quality and specialized human resources. This is consistent with the law of development. Therefore, human resource training is necessary and Da Nang needs care about invest.

Da Nang government has announced many important information about investment, economic and trade activities to domestic and foreign investors; announcing new points in planning and infrastructure in the near future; investment activities to strengthen Da Nang’s technological capacity; build a modern city through the formation of high-tech zones, concentrated technology zones.

The Prime Minister also mentioned a number of areas that Vietnam and Da Nang are prioritizing to attract investment such as information technology, digital transformation infrastructure, climate change response, green energy transformation, diversification. supply chain, industrial infrastructure, urban infrastructure, human resource training, pharmaceutical industry development, medical equipment, foundation industries such as processing and manufacturing, materials, innovation industries, etc. new, innovative, capital market development…

The Prime Minister requested ministries, central agencies as well as Da Nang to step up administrative reform in a substantive manner, eliminate bureaucracy, create openness and avoid causing troubles for businesses. He also wants businesses to invest in Vietnam with sincerity, responsibility and mutual trust.

“The success of the business is our own success,” said the Prime Minister.

According to the Prime Minister, Vietnam is a developing country and is building a socialist-oriented market economy; To build a socialist rule-of-law state, all people and businesses must operate according to the law and have their legitimate rights and interests guaranteed by the law in the best way.

At the Forum, leaders of Da Nang announced 7 key and motivational projects calling for investment, including: Lien Chieu Port project (one of three deep-water seaports in Vietnam, planned as a special port). ; complex of financial, commercial, entertainment, casino and high-class apartment buildings; Danang creative space; International trade center; international Hospital; nursing home; international inter-school.

The People’s Committee of Da Nang City also granted a notice to allow investment research into 5 projects, including: Lien Chieu seaport, Da Nang airport expansion, logistics centers, airport urban projects, and seaport urban centers for Da Nang city.
