The cooperation program aims to improve the efficiency of information, propaganda and advertisement for the Capital’s tourism activities and events; renewing ways and contents and increasing the application of information technology in tourism communication; implementing digital transformation in the tourism industry in the period of 2021-2025.
Director of the Department of Information and Communication Nguyen Thanh Liem said that, as the state management agency of the press in the area, the Department of Information and Communications cooperated with the Department of Tourism to strengthen communication content. information, implement propaganda and promotion activities about the capital’s tourism to the people and tourists.
According to Mr. Liem, after the City People’s Committee approved the Hanoi City Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030, the Department of Information and Communications will accompany the Department of Tourism to implement the digital transformation project. to improve the efficiency of tourism in the Capital.
Accordingly, to serve residents and tourists, Hanoi has installed 25 public wifi points in tourist spots and downtown areas. In 2021, the Department of Information and Communications continues to coordinate with telecommunications service providers to install 9 more public wifi points; at the same time, working with carriers to deploy 5G services to serve tourists and people (currently, VNPT / VinaPhone, Viettel has tested 5G commercialization in some downtown areas).
Ms. Dang Huong Giang – Director of the Department of Tourism said, over the past time, the Department has actively made the connection between management agencies with associations, tourism business clubs, service units: aviation. railway, car, hotel, travel, destination …, building products to stimulate tourism demand, implementing promotional activities, promoting and attracting tourists to promote tourism activities of the Capital.
Thereby, the capital’s tourism activities showed signs of recovery when the relic destinations (Perfume Pagoda, Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam, Ngoc Son Temple, Duong Lam Ancient Village …) reopened.
