Hyundai and sibling companies in Hyundai Motor Corporation, Kia and Genesis, have caught people’s attention with their recent vehicle designs, and that is only recognized through the award of Good Design Awards 2020. Hyundai won four design awards with its Prophecy concept, concept 45, Elantra, and Hi-Charger’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Three vehicle models (Elantra, 45 and Prophecy) are recognized for their unique design. While each design has its own philosophy, they all reflect the same principle called “Sensuous Sportiness”. The electric vehicle charging system also received an award, in addition to the merits from the Red Dot Awards 2020.

Meanwhile, Copper Design Theme is recognized for providing optimized availability and visibility while driving using a subtle bronze-red theme that helps reflect Genesis’s luxury brand identity. Its standout features include an AR-based navigation system, Car Pay, Valet Mode, and Home-to-Car also leveraged with the Copper Design Theme.

Last but not least, Kia has won 2 awards with K5 and Sorento. The K5 model has been recognized for its integration with the “tiger nose” grille and the light system that runs as a “heartbeat” into its part. The Sorento is also recognized for its collection of design legacies of previous generations, while at the same time breaking the conventions of typical SUV styling.
