Assembler Apple employs 1,000 more workers in Vietnam

Foxconn is hiring 1,000 workers, earning 8-10 million a month in Bac Giang, Bac Ninh.

According to the recruitment announcement of Hong Hai Science and Technology Group (Foxconn), these workers will be responsible for assembling electronic components at Que Vo technology park, VSIP in Bac Ninh and Quang Chau industrial zone in Bac Giang.

Foxconn said the workers will have a total income of 8-10 million VND a month, are signed on a formal contract, pay social insurance from the first month. In particular, the workers’ basic salary is 4.9 million dong, housing allowance, diligence for each kind of 500,000 dong, living and food allowance of more than 1.2 million dong.

Vietnam is currently Foxconn’s largest production site in Southeast Asia. In November 2020, Reuters Foxconn is building a factory in Bac Giang province, which is expected to come into operation in the first half of 2021. The plant will house the assembly line for iPad tablets and Apple MacBook laptops.

According to this news agency, some orders from the Chinese factory will be transferred to this new line, but did not disclose specific volume of production. In the middle of last month, Foxconn’s 270 million project in Bac Giang that produces and processes laptops and tablets was awarded the investment certificate by this Provincial People’s Committee.

Starting to invest in Vietnam in 2007, in addition to Bac Giang and Bac Ninh, Foxconn also has operations in Vinh Phuc, Quang Ninh. This enterprise is creating jobs for about 50,000 workers in Vietnam.

The Apple assembler has also worked with Thanh Hoa province to survey and explore investment opportunities. Accordingly, businesses looking for locations with an area of ​​100-150 ha, total investment capital of 1.3 billion USD, export sales of 10 billion USD a year.
