AI solution to measure air quality wins Startup Wheel 2021


Air quality measurement and warning device using artificial intelligence (AI) “Make-in-Vietnam” won the first prize of Startup Wheel 2021.

The first prize worth 400 million VND has just been awarded to tMonitor at the Startup Wheel 2021 Finale on November 5 in Ho Chi Minh City. Founded in June 2019 by Vu Hai Nam, tMonitor is an overall AIoT solution (combining artificial intelligence and Internet of things) including a hardware and software platform for quality collection, monitoring and analysis. air volume.

According to the award experts, tMonitor is the only domestic software and equipment product on the market that offers insight into 13 air quality indicators: dust types (PM 1, PM 2.5 and PM 10). ), harmful gases (VOCs, SO2, CO, O3), CO2 and NH3) and environmental conditions (temperature, humidity and light).

Based on AI data analysis, tMonitor provides urgent, appropriate, timely response when any incident or crisis occurs. The solution can be applied inside and outside the home, as well as in working environments with a high density of workers such as factories, hospitals, schools, commercial centers…

Ms. Truong Ly Hoang Phi, Member of the Vietnam Panel Jury, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association, said that tMonitor is highly appreciated for its problem related to market trends, in search of preventive solutions. , warning of air quality in factories and enterprises.

Along with that, the project owns products with a methodical R&D process, and integrates both hardware and software. “Actually, for startups in Vietnam, this is a difficult path, requiring investment and perseverance. However, your sample product has partly shown its ability to execute,” said Ms. Phi – who is the Founder and Strategic Advisor of BSSC commented.

This project has advantages thanks to the experienced technology team and reputable advisors. However, according to Ms. Phi, tMonitor solves the difficult problem of the environment with a solution that is not easy when developing hardware and software in parallel. Therefore, the business model is still not really strong.

“I think you will need a lot of time as well as the help of business people with enough strategic vision to go further and more firmly,” said the judge.

The project representative also hopes to be able to find more investment funds and partners to continue perfecting advanced artificial intelligence technology, manufacturing hardware equipment and expanding the market, deploying and installing new technologies. In addition to the first prize, tMonitor, the second prize was given to Banh Mi Ma Hai by Doan Van Minh Nhut, one of the leading businesses in the bread and fish cake chain in Vietnam. Currently, this chain has more than 400 kiosks, 300 franchised customers covering more than 40 provinces and cities, 3 fish cake processing factories. Meanwhile, the third prize was given to the high-class laundry, dry cleaning and hygiene service Heramo founded by Le Phuoc Phuc. The first prize in the international table was awarded to the ProfilePrint project.

This is considered the largest and most intensive startup competition in Vietnam, with influence in Asia for the past 8 years. Despite the complicated epidemic situation, Startup Wheel 2021 with the message “Chance to Change” attracted the participation of nearly 2,000 projects from 24 countries around the world.

At the Semi-Final Round, Startup Wheel 2021 launched the first and largest online investment connection platform in Vietnam attracting the participation of 133 startups in 24 countries from 5 continents, 1,087 Vietnamese investors and international. 612 deals were successfully closed. According to statistics from the organizers, a total of 18,752 messages and 895 hours of video calls were exchanged between more than 100 startups and more than 1,000 investors to learn about business models and introduce products and services.

Startup Wheel is co-organized by the Youth Startup Support Center (BSSC) and the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Ho Chi Minh City (YBA) under the direction of the Vietnam Youth Union, the Vietnam Student Association and the Department of Science. & Technology HCMC.
